use thymidine deoxyribonucleosides containing thymine bases. The nucleoside formed by thymine through the β-glycosidic linkage to D-ribose. Thymidine is used for the preparation of anti-AIDS drugs (such as zidofuzidine and statofuzidine) and the synthesis of antiviral drugs. It can also be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate for direct export. At present, there are only a handful of manufacturers producing β-thymidine in China, and only a few companies such as Xincheng and Xinghu Technology produce them, mostly by chemical synthesis.
It is mainly used for the preparation of anti-AIDS drugs (such as Zidovudine and Shidafudine).
Used as a pharmaceutical intermediate to synthesize antiviral and anti-HIV drugs
Used for fusion, selection and cloning of hybrid tumors in HT and HAT cocktail methods
Biological activity Thymidine (Deoxythymidine, 2 '-Deoxythymidine, 5-Methyldeoxyuridine, DThyd, NSC 21548) is a pyrimidine nucleoside composed of pyrimidine base thymine connected to glycopide deoxyribose. As a component of DNA, thymidine pairs with adenine in the DNA double helix.
